Moms are Different
Not all moms can cope, mentally, with staying home with their little ones full time.
Not all moms can cope, emotionally, with going to work every day and leaving their little ones behind full time.
Not all moms can choose whether they will work or stay home with their little ones; these moms often wish they could stay home but if they were to stay home many would find they prefer working because most any job is less fatiguing than caring for a little one, full time.
Not all moms can deal with not getting a date night at least once a month with their partners.
Not all moms can find the time and energy to arrange for a sitter, get ready to go out and make plans for a date night once a month, or for some moms, even once a year!
Some moms bottle-feed, some moms breast-feed.
Some moms drink alcoholic beverages when they're nursing, they 'pump and dump' (as one friend called it)!
Other moms choose not to drink alcoholic beverages when nursing.
Not all moms can manage to fix their hair or paint their nails on a monthly basis; some moms can't do these things on an annual basis, while some moms may forfeit shaving, covering gray hair and wearing make up all together for an undisclosed amount of time.
Then there are moms that cannot function without having their hair styled and nails manicured, it's part of their identity.
Not all moms wear their babies in age-old, yet new-age carriers, while some moms wear their babies constantly.
Not all moms have special needs children to care for, while many moms do have special needs children to care for.
Not all moms use pacifiers to soothe their little ones, some moms can't imagine not having the pacifier as a soothing option.
Not all moms give up on their workout routine after the baby is born, many moms do, many moms are too tired and don't have the time to keep it up. Some moms are able to continue working out up until baby becomes mobile at which point it becomes too hard to maintain the routine.

Not all moms find peace on long car rides with baby in tow; some moms may feel they're on the brink of insanity on long car rides with baby in tow.
Not all moms need medication to treat depression after a baby is born, some moms do need medication to treat depression after a baby is born.
Not all moms struggle with weight loss after baby is born, some moms struggle with maintaining a healthy weight after baby is born and some moms do have a hard time losing the extra weight after baby is born.

We all have good days and bad days. We're doing the best we can at any given moment... some women's 'best' may be better than other women's 'best'... it is what it is.
And we all know that mothering is not for the faint of heart!
So, today, as a mom, do something to help take care of yourself... then try to make it a habit! ;)
